    8" Burnt Orange Ashtray

I have to admit...this was in the workshop covered in dust and filled with a pile of electronic pieces. And I've walked by it for several years without a thought. Today in my mission to organize some things, I moved it and thought...I need to clean this thing.

Under the faucet, I laid my eyes upon the most amazing burnt orange colored glass. There are 2 tiny bubbles in the glass almost directly across from each other. Pictures don't do it justice..its a large piece and it's swaps from Carmel to maple to burnt orange in the light.

Dad would always a few of these around the workshop. There's another vintage cut glass ashtray that is used for flicking excess solder into while soldering.

I love ashtrays, and I don't even smoke:

Thanks everyone. Ashtrays are making a comeback. They are being repurposed for other things like change, keys and catch alls. And of course for soldering like dad used them for.

Hello all, like Keramikos I do not smoke but I started collecting ash trays, (I'm collecting to resell). There are a lot of interesting and quality ashtrays out there.

Hi Lila..my sister and I have an etsy store. NOWVI(Northwest Vintage) and we have sold several ashtrays. But this one belonged to dad. He did smoke cigars once in awhile, but used this for electronics soldering. So this will stay with me.
