I'm sure it could be, but FOR WHAT ???

I found this rather heavy white ceramic thing at the Re-Store today and absolutely had to grab it...that it was an 'unpriced item' probably made it 'FREE' when I went to check out with my other >$30 armload of assorted crap?!! ;-) :-)

Inside on the bottom it reads "HANDY DISPENSER PATENTS PENDING", but that's it. There's a number 8 scratched into its unglazed underside as well, unless that's just a random mark -- nothing else anywhere on it. Whatever it held would be no larger than 3-1/4" square, the little slots near the bottom of its frontside are 3/8" high. I don't know if there are any other parts missing or not. Overall it is 4-3/4" square across the bottom and 4-1/2" tall - the body portion of it actually leans back at a slight angle.

Anybody gots a clue what it is???

      AnythingObscure, Cool. :-)

My original thought was sugar packet holder, but when I used that for search criteria, these tea packet dispensers popped up:

This one I love, because it looks like a little stove:

If that opening is 3" wide, then my money's on it being a stick match dispenser. Looks like the right size to hold the box.
