The very first room we had to finish was the downstairs bedroom so my sister had a place to stay when she'd visit. It's a 1920's addition off the kitchen and only has a crawl space beneath it and not over the main house basement. Pretty much the same story here as the rest of the house. Remove the gross pet stained carpet (you have no idea of the smell), then clean and paint the floor, walls and ceiling. We removed the ugly ceiling fan and put in a cool new enclosed fan with LED lighting. Originally we thought the desk would go in the kitchen and set it here temporarily. A change of heart and space consideration so it stayed. The 30's vanity was a good place for some of my perfume bottles and needed a bit of TLC to make it presentable. The spindle bed (usually mistaken as Jenny Lind) came from our local antique store. It has a unique chain tensioner that makes it rock solid despite the delicate appearance. We found the beautiful crocheted bedspread last year. Also a nice find, a large Maxfield Parrish print entitled "Daybreak" hangs above it. A ready made mattress was impossible to find, so a cut down full size memory foam turned out to be just as comfy. -Mike-

Nice. My style of house. I sleep in an actual Jenny Lind bed. It was my grandparents' bed, (Charles 1861-1936 and Frieda 1882-1975).

      mikelv85, Love that secretary. <3

That crocheted afghan utilizes the popcorn stitch, which can be pretty time-consuming.
