The half bath was the only structural renovation we did. Walking down those stairs at night to go potty...a I don't think so...lol. So I picked the far corner of the loft to make use of the little single window plus we only needed to build one wall and the door way. It's also easy access to the downstairs bath plumbing right through the floor. So I taped off an 8'x8' section of the floor and said to the contractor it goes here. One guy and about 6 weeks later Viola' No plans just my list of materials and design thoughts. All free form... Great guy, great work, great results ! I found the antique wash stand at Volunteers of America for four bucks! Didn't mind the white paint or gold accents one bit...and it works. A large clear glass Blenko fish sits atop the cabinet on the wall. I think he could be used as a terrarium. My McCoy jardiniere hiding under the fern I posted 8 years ago...Wow, I can hardly believe it was that long ago ! -Mike-

Thanks Scott...yes, I was very pleased with the way it turned out. We love using those windows. Dave was such a great guy. I'd drive out to the house every morning to let him in at 6:30 in the dead of winter 2019. Poor guy had a bad hip and did the work of 3 guys. After he had his surgery we got him back to do the knee wall by the stairs and some electrical work. We couldn't get him back for the kitchen because he was busy elsewhere. The guys that did the kitchen were a whole different story I about fired them but my sister hired them. I couldn't wait till they left. We're still doing some of the the finish work they didn't do.

mikelv85, Cool. Love that pedestal sink. <3

Yes, having to climb stairs in the middle of the night would be no fun, but we're kind of spoiled babies in this day and age.

My grandfather at one point lived in a cabin in the woods with an outhouse, and he got his drinking water from a spring.

Thanks keramikos for the "love" and compliment. The outhouse is long gone but we do have a working well and pump on the property. The water smells like rotten eggs, I was told it could be pumped out and let fill a few times to be drinkable again but I'm not that brave. The flowers can have all they want though. :)

Wow! You are what we women call "the perfect handiman". My husband was one, from electricity to plumbing to tearing down a Ford engine and putting it back together. How I miss him!
I love it all! The stained glass is lovely!
      What a guy!
