Today's arrival was this diminutive Victorian glass thorn vase found on eBay AU. I knew it was going to be small, but seriously, this has to be the smallest thorn vase in existence!
It is made from two layers of cased glass - clear pale blue over a white interior. The vase measures 8.6 cm tall, 2.2 cm across the top rim, & 4.3 cm across the base, which has a tiny rough pontil mark. Covered all over with rustic thorn pull - out decoration.
Compared with some of my other thorn vases you can clearly see how tiny it is...
It's going to be very easy to find a spot in one of my cabinets for it!
Last photo shows another of today's arrivals - snow!
Very beautiful, is that your backyard Marin?
Many thanks, Bernard, yes it's my yard, with the first snowfall of the year. I'm coming up to my third year in the Blue Mountains & we've had some snow each year, usually in August, & once as late as mid - September.
Cute as !!! Love the snow … 7 here this morning but it bet it’s colder up in the mountains.
Thanks so much, Kevin, yes we have had a frosty couple of days up here...7 was our top today, in the sun as the snow slowly melted away...
You’re garden looks soooo! pretty., I love the black and white photo, and of course you lovely teeny vase too!? nice find Marin..
Many thanks, Penny!
It's really special to enjoy four defined seasons in the Mountains, so different to my former life in Sydney. There's always something interesting going on...I love the drama of a real winter!
Oh - & one more thing - this does look like a B&W photo but is actually in colour - it's magical how snow can create a monochromatic picture...
It’s the one thing I love about living here, the four seasons, one thing we didn’t have when living on the Gold Coast...hated the humidity..
