Give it a good polish first, and then you just can't take a bad photo of a good Murano geode bowl. I only wish their glass wasn't so soft. This one was nigh impeccable when I bought it second-hand from a European dealer, quite reasonably, and I see now that I've left my marks in small ways. Sigh. Well, this becomes a good meditation on the transience of beauty.
Does anyone know the name of this bowl's maker? (It's unsigned, presumably because it wasn't up to his standards. It meets mine. I'm chipped and scratched in places, too.)
Update: thank you all for your valuable input. I'm told with some authority that is is a late piece by Mandruzzato.

Yes Mandruzatto, but not a geode that's more for the ones with a smooth outside that look like someone cut a rock in half, like the gemstone rocks you see opened up at shows. These are referred to as "faceted" bowls/ashtrays. They are fantastic things.

this is one of the late ones Mandruzzato 1965-1970 , because it is a ruby red , blue tinged clear combination , there are a lot of factories who made this , butthis is an Mandruzzato because there is no fluidum in the sommerso, and the sommerso is quite harsh
