Over the years I've squirreled away maybe a dozen of these wondrous pieces, purely because they enchant me. Never mind that their glass is soft and prone to damage at the slightest mishandling, or that it's very hard to find one in good condition for under a grand, or that they weigh a ton to ship. Every so often I take them out of their drawer, turn them this way and that in the light, maybe take a few photos if the might is right, and just marvel. Then I put them away again, or rotate the one I have on dispaly in my studio. I can't bring myself to sell them, though that's why I originally bought. The green one is by, I believe, Seguso, and the blue and amber by Flavio Poli.
They were made sometime mid-century. They have a few tiny defects that don't bother me at all.
Oh some more. They are beautiful. Yes they seem to fetch amazing prices here even with some damage. I keep my nose to the ground and occasionally get a bargain. I have a similar one to the green one but the inside is round and the outside octagonal but has the same shape of cut around the outside, "Seguso" will have to take note of that.
