A Tiscket A Travet A Three Layer Trivet Circa 1950s

I tend to like things that are unusual and this is one of those. It is a three layer trivet for an iron. From the shape it would be a more modern one from the 1950s or 1960s. It has 3 layers of steel plates to absorb and dissipate the heat along with hollow feet. I should test it out to see how well it works. OK let us wait while the iron heats up. I am using a really old iron with a sketchy plug.
OK the test is finished. The iron got quite hot but the bottom layer and feet somewhat warm warm. You can see the iron used in the last photo. I think I will replace the cord before I try and use it again.
