Hey all! Well, here is my next project. I am having the boom removed and a wood bed put down. I am keeping the the Braden winch. She is a 6 cylinder and 4 speed. I love this thing! This is the update from today!
It certainly does give U-Haul a completely different image in my mind
Great vintage wheels Cokeman, enjoy the restore
Cool project. I like the one Ian Roussel made on "full custom garage".
Thanks everyone for looking and loving! Thanks Ed,Newfld and dav2no1 for the comments. I APPRECIATE each and every one of you! It runs and drives very well despite its outward appearance. I am going to keep the patina and have the doors painted with some kind of saying. I am having the brakes redone along with the wiring and of course the bed. I have the gas tank out being boiled and lined so that I can get it back on. I will get new tires all the way around when I hit the lottery:) They are very expensive. They are almost $300.00 a piece. The size is 7.50-20.
Wow how cool ! Can't wait to see it all finished ! Hope all is well with you ,been very hot and humid here .
I HEARTILY APPLAUD your decision to "keep the patina" -- it is **SO PERFECT** just as an original 1950 workhorse should be!!!!!!! Good call on the brakes and wiring, gotta keep it safe and reliable after all. (even if it looks like it wouldn't be?! <lol>) I'm sure the flat bed will be more useful, and as far as $300 tires, well, they cost me about the same every time I havta get a set for my late model F-150's, except that you'll need six... <groan>
Love the split window. And if you're gonna win the lottery...then mags and some super single tires!
Morning Mani! It is hotter than blue blazes in Georgia:) Hope you are doing well. The truck is making progress. We had the gas tank boiled and lined and they are doing the brakes now. The wood bed is next. I am not rushing them but I sure would like to get it home. Take care and I APPRECIATE each and every one that stop and looked at my old truck!
Here is the latest update! Boom gone and wood bed on the way:)

This is so cool..I can almost feel your excitement through the posting!! keep the updates coming!!!!
This is the latest update on the international. She has her shoes off and awaiting a full brake job and new brake lines. The timbers are being acquired for the bed and in the second picture the bumper is going to be the large piece of iron with holes in it with the brake lights. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I can see the finished product even though some might say she is not worth saving:)
THIS 'beholder' certainly sees the BEAUTY?!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Went by and checked on the truck today. The brake shoes were in pretty good shape considering being 70 years old. The axles looked good also. The shop us going to sand blaster the wheel rims and of course clean up and replace the wheel cylinders and shoes and such. Appreciate yall!
