This shirt came with all the patches seen here which is unusual. There always seem to be a few missing.
The shirt here is the one before the Oscar de la Renta designed uniform in 1982. I don't think it was ever in widespread use, they may have just been giving it a trial run. I believe it was designed to be worn with or without a neckerchief. Seems the neckerchief goes better under the collar. Now for the patches.
Starting off is a pocket flap patch. Patches from camps and other such could be worn here. Usually they would be round patches that go on the pocket itself but this one goes on the flap. Left pocket has the rank of First Class Scout and Arrow Light award which would be awarded when one was in Cub Scouts.
Left Sleeve has the San Diego Council Patch with a galleon and space ship. Next is the Pack number and then the position of Assistant Patrol Leader.
On the right sleeve is the Patrol Patch which is the Wolf Patrol of which he was Assistant Patrol Leader. And last the American flag which was standard on every uniform..
Next week's post will depend on if I find anything.
I really like that pocket patch. Different.
