Boston Champion pencil sharpener circa 1950s with original mid green hammered paint. Still sharpens pencils to a weapons grade point after 70 odd years. No planned obsolescence here , just beautifully simple, elegant and reliable machinery.
Gorgeous piece !~
Thanks Phil :) it really is a beauty. Unusually excellent condition for its age
It must be heavy, I have a paper tape dispenser that I swear is around 15-20 pounds, hard to lift with one hand, by Seymour Products Co. I remember going to a one room schoolhouse and seeing one like yours there. That colour is to die for. The chrome looks mint too ! I see a box, is it for the sharpener ??
Yeah it’s pretty heavy and very sturdy. You can lift it with one hand. The Mid green really is an awesome colour (and quite rare as well as most were beige or silver hammered finish) the chrome is in excellent condition for its age with only minor pitting at the bottom of the shaving canister. The box behind it is for a later release of the same sharpener in hammered metallic beige ( I have 5 Bostons so far)
