The Things that I posted Today reminds me why I love going to the Flea Market! Even on a Hot Smokey Day when you feel that You won't find anything, is when I can come up with some of my more interesting Finds! :^D
The Large Driftwood Carving with two small Seagulls by a local Artist Sid Hayworth in 1985, I got last Weekend, and the Driftwood Burl with the Resin Composition Blue Sharks by California Artist John Perry, I got This Weekend and thought they looked good together!
I Liked the Green Glass Jar, incased in a Silver Metal with Open Flowing Lines and Flowers Design, but A search for something like it came up empty!
All the Small Rings, the 5 on the tissue roll, marked 925 or Sterling, and the 4 above the Compact on the Black display stand are unmarked, and I found them last Weekend, but the Sterling Evens Weave Look 4" Compact, I found on Sunday 8/29!
I really liked the Brass and Amethyst Butterfly and Irises Brooch/Sash Pin, looks Victorian, but not sure, and unmarked, found it Sunday also, with most the other Jewelry, an interesting piece is the Golf Pendant from Apache Wells Champ 18 Hole 1966, that was the Year that the newly Designed and Added back 9 holes were open making it an 18 hole Course, I don't know if this was an Award, or maybe a Promo Gift, for the Newly opened Back 9 Holes! The Pendant is Probably Apache Made with Turquoise and inlaid wood!
The next is the Orange Bracelet beaded on a stretch cord, I think Lucite Potato Chip and 3/4" round Beads, a look of Bakelite, but something that my #1 Mary(valentino97) may know something about! :^D
Thank You for Looking, all Comments and Questions about this Post are Welcome, and if You would like a closer look at anything please let me know! Bill :^)
Thank You dav2no1 for taking a look, and for the love you gave for what You saw! :^)
That green glass and the amethyst butterfly brooch are two of my faves. Nice haul
Thanks Mrstyndall for your comment, yes both have a Victorian Look to them, but I'm not sure they are even close to that old, I just really like them too! :^D
Thank You for the love that you gave Mrstyndall, also! :^)
Hey Kevin thanks for stopping by for a look and leaving a love, for what You saw! :^)
I'm curious about the beaded necklace on the black display neck, is that the Apache piece, and is the brown thing with black/red cross a pendant attached to it, or a little 'stash bag' for something?? I like the green square pendant on the black sash/cord too -- and I've little doubt those are all beautiful silver rings, but can't see detail. (which probably doesn't matter, they're lovely anyway for sure?!)
THANKS for keeping on keeping on showing us ALL your fun finds, Bill -- I just wish CA wasn't so far away, so maybe we could go "discovering" together someday, it'd surely be a BLAST!!! <applause>
I live that driftwood piece with the gulls.
Hey Tim Thanks, I'm not sure about the Beaded Necklace, I've gotten three of those over the years, all similar different colors but same button loop catch, may be Native American, or Hippie, same goes for the little beaded leather Bag! LOL The Apache piece is the Silver Golfing Pendant necklace from the Apache Wells Golf Course in Arizona. The four rings above the Compact on the Black display stand, all have gem/crystals set into them but they are very small rings, and unmarked, but the Five Rings on the white tissue tube, if you zoom in on pic.4 you can get a good look at them in the upper right corner! And Yes Tim it would be a blast to meet and Check-out the Flea Market together! :^D I took some Photos of the Sellers Displays, that I bought the Golfing Pendant from, and I'll put a post of Her Jewelry up for Fun! :^D
Thank You Patricia, I really like the Driftwood piece too, it's about 26" tall and the Two Seagulls are carved out of it, the flying one is 3" and the standing Gull is 4 1/2". The Driftwood has a Hook on the Back so it can be hung on a Nail/Screw! :^D
Thank You all for the Love that you gave, Brian, Jenni, Dgilmer110760, and I know that You love it too Patricia! It's appreciated! :^)
The butterfly sash pin! My fave, too. Great finds!
Thank You Maureen, the Sash Pin is a Beauty! :^D
Thank You for all the loves Given for this Post, BHIFOS, Maureen. Ted, and Pascale, it's appreciated! :^)
