Another Qianlong porcelain piece for the Thai or Southeast Asian Market. Made in Thailand between 1736 and 1795. I'm not sure why, but these have not been as hotly collected as so many other forms of Chinese porcelain, which is how i've been able to afford them. This is another great piece i found at Shangri-la Antiques in Amsterdam.
haha this also a wishing well plate
strange piece a chalk rock citrus hand , could be transit ware for indonesia, a sort of tidak dekinale ware , i am not sure
you call those chalk rocks? why? i love the buddha hand lemons! i have a buddha hand lemon tree at my nursery and think they're pretty cool.
haven,t got my equipment here , but i got some assumptions here
a part of it Lan Zi design ( basket ) , it is a tribute to LanCaihe
i forgot the chinese name of the alleged chalk rock , something to do with the name of a chinese lake i believe
it has always been an enigma , but the presume it is stone leached by water
i think the chalkrocks become famoes during kangxi period (signed Chengua mostly), , but in mine opinion they are probably already present in the Wanli bird scenes klapmuts
you got what they called naked pieces , simple chalk +bird and the not naked pieces
1 the Suihan Sanyou, Saikan Sanyu , Sehansam Sayou , also called three friends of wanter + chalkrock , an triumvirate , which is a a sort of ( Spock Star trek ) live long and prosper wish
3 Lu design is Deer design a sort of revival of the Wanli ( but mostly polychroom )
4 Fench (yep without R) design + chalk rock , mostly garden scenes , f i Long Elisa
Thank you Apostata! i feel like i'm your pupil. you have so much knowledge of language and ceramics. i speak Thai and a few other languages, but i have zero knowledge of written Thai, Japanese, nor any of the Chinese languages. i like your stream of consciousness feedback - even though i don't understand any of it sometimes.
addendum
Taihu rocks were farmed from Lake Tai in Jiangsu province. The perforated surfaces of the stones were formed by drilling the limestone and then immersing the rocks in the lake, where they were exposed to the erosive actions of water, waves, and sand, sometimes for hundreds of years. When the rocks were harvested, the perforations often appeared to be natural, and Taihu rocks have been likened to miniature cosmic mountains with heavenly grottoes and fantastic peaks.
no skill but perseverence hahaha
