Picked this from the thrift store. This beautiful nautical painting has incredible detail and color. If this is the David Morris I’m thinking of I’ve left some info below. It has a pretty beat up frame, and has some kind of registry code on the back as a sort of authenticity. If I’m wrong then please correct me or add some info to enlighten me if you know anything about the artist. Measures 20 x 24”
David Morris studied at the Slade School of Art London 1959-1961 where his tutor was Keith Vaughan. His work follows in the tradition of English landscape painting and printmaking and is firmly rooted in observation. Etching is his preferred printmaking method particularly aquatint. David has exhibited widely including New Light. Royal Scottish Academy, The RA, and Discerning Eye at the Mall Gallery. His work is included in the House of Lords Works of Art Collection.
