I guessed 'nibblers' for working with glass, but none I've found yet online look like 'em at all...??? Are they crimpers for something instead?? I could nearly swear I've seen something like them before, but can't recall what that IS for the life of me...??
About 7" long, they are marked "JMC" and "FORGED" on each handle.
many are listing as blasting cap crimping tool

For crimping blasting detonators would be my guess.
I have used them to build rabbit cages using "C" clips, probably used wherever they fit
Blasting caps...wow. I wouldn't have guessed *that*?!! <lol>
Thanks SO much to Tallcakes, Onedtent, and Motoolz for your answers, and of course also to fortapache, Alfie21, dav2no1,Irishcollector., vetraio50, & vintagelamp for your <love it>s!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Blasting cap crimpers aren't this heavily made. My 1st thought was Nicopress crimpers, but they are toggled.
I have the same crimper which I inherited from my grandfather, about 1980. I also have a bag of the aluminum crimps that are used with it. I don't know what the original purpose of the crimper was for but the box of the crimps weighed about 25-30 pounds and now I have used all but a couple of pounds. The crimps are fantastic...they're like Frank's Red Hot sauce, "I put that s*** on everything!!" I have used the crimps to fix everything under the sun. UV, weather, nothing harms them and they hold really tight. Someone point me in the right direction to post a picture and I will add a couple.
Sounds like Nicopress to me. Used on aircraft cables. telephone guy wires, stays etc. on boats.
Nope, these crimps are nothing more than a strip of aluminum about 3/8 inch wide and folded partway about a 1/3 of the length and when placed in the crimper jaws fold around the part and squeeze down snug. They are not a tube type ferrule crimp that would be strong enough for the applications you mentioned, they would fail and you would crash or sink!!! The crimpers are JMC.
Guess it depends on what politician's plane you would be working on. LOL
You got that right!
