I have had this for a while and it came from an op shop so no history was available but compared to my other cloisonne items this is different and looks much older. The newer stuff tends to have enamel under the base but this is plain flat brass. Anyone else have any ideas?
IMO you are narrowed down to late meijji around 1910
1 you are narrowed down by means of the gorudo kirameki , wrongly translated as goldstone
2 we are committed to an round flattop dark bourgondy rim
3 pock marks are ok
4 imo the blue and white horizontal sticks are just decoration , it is not part of an kasami scene the so called finger of mist scene, but i might missed have something ( stylised clouds or stylised octopus tentacles , i don,t know)
4 and we are committed to the neklace design for sure Maybe even the probably iris design , i don,t know
so i don,t think i can;t be that far off
conservative estimate te be on the safe side maybe slightly earlier , but not later

i am not allowed to assess value , i do it in the rather cryptic way
Thanks apostata! Seems you have confirmed my hunch for it to be an older item and it seems a bit older than I thought. Not too worried on value I buy them because I like them but the information as provided on age is really interesting. Thanks again. :)
Looks like Art Nouveau, to me.
well they intertwine partly , see also worldfair and kyoto porcelain
