This unusual bowl is in a seldom seen decor that I believe is related to Kralik's 'Snowflake' decor. I have only ever seen two other examples of this decor. It shares both the threading and the colored glass spots of 'Snowflake', but in this case the spots appear to be very finely ground blue glass that has been fired over clear glass with an opalescent finish. The glass used for the threading is very slightly pale green to the eye, and is uv reactive - it glows brightly under black light. The bowl is quite heavy, and measures 7" (17.8cm) across. This is a great piece; I was drawn to the vibrant blue, and I enjoy having it on a table in our living room.

You are spoiling us, Michelle. I see the resemblance to 'Snowflake' but this décor is much prettier.

This is such a special & unique piece of art glass! Would love to see a blacklight photo...I'm thinking of how magical it would look seeing the glow contrasted by that perfectly spaced pattern of rounded rectangles which grow ever smaller as they wind their way to the base. Looks like it has a fascinating texture, too.
So glad that this one came into your collection where it will be cherished!

Thank you, Marin, I really appreciate it! I'll see if I can get a decent picture of it with the uv light. :)
