I got this little "Bing" butter churn to run with my small "Ernst Plank" hot air engine from the turn of the century.
It is made from cast iron with a tin jar top over a glass jar.
The Bing Co. also made this churn for the "Meccano Co". of London, England, who marketed it in their name.
It can be run by the hand wheel or can be run under power using the pulley grooves on the flywheel.
The glass jar is most likely a replacement as they were often broken over the years of playing with as a toy.
After researching, I found that this little churn could really make butter with use of the rotating metal paddle in the glass jar.
P.S. .... The older I become, the more that I enjoy these early toys of the turn of the 20th Century.
