In the 1980s my parents toured through the Soviet Union. One the people in their tourist group was arrested because they were taking a picture and a subway station was in the background..against the law to take pictures of public transportation. Another arrested for Jay walking.
Years later I saw a documentary that showed an escape train (to leave the cities quickly)for political heads that was hidden directly under the main subway. So I believe this is what they were protecting.
Also..dad(illegally) took pictures I side the subway. Very nice with art hanging on the walls and metal airplanes. Don't remember where that was, will have to dig out the slides..
