I am not getting any solid information on this pair of Mr Peanut salt and pepper shakers. I will guess around 1960 due to the color and quality of the plastic. Now someone else will see this and treat it like it was written in stone. My bad it is just a guess.
These guys are 3 1/4" tall. One has slightly larger holes in the top of his top hat so that one is for pepper. A fine pepper no course pepper please. There is no information on the base. There is however another pair of these on CW but they are red.
Last photo is my small salt and pepper shaker collection. Plenty of items left to post say stay tuned to this channel!

Your date is about right on. I had the Mr. Peanut drinking cup he was tan in color. You had to send in peanut wrappers and money for return postage to get Mr. Peanut items.I think I got my cup pre 1960 perhaps around 58.

My mom had a pair. Back in the 40's to 50's these things were actually given out as wedding presents. My aunt actually had a list of all her items she received. Some for her shower also. Nowadays the gifts are much more lavish. I attended a wedding for some gypsy people long ago in the 80's. There were stuffed pigs everywhere with apples. They tied a scarf around your neck and you put money in the hat, then the mc would pick up the money and name the amount.

PhilDMorris your gypsies sound like my Cuban neighbors. They know how to throw a pig roast.

      Thank you very much Newfld.

Thank you very much fhrjr2. Thank you for backing up my peanut dating.

Thank you very much Phil. I am all in on cheap wedding gifts. The gypsy weddings sound like they may be fun.
