Back in 2005 a customer of a Pittsburgh area hobby shop wanted a model of a Harmony Short Line bus. So the shop owner handed me a bus, it may have been a Greyhound version by Corgi. I think it was 1/50th scale? He said here, paint this up to represent the Harmony Short Line #775. The real 775 was a recently restored vehicle at the time. In less than a week I handed it over. They sure did have colorful buses back in the day.
they sure did like the colors, before I moved last year, I was in the Bay Area (CA)- San Francisco had started a program to bring in vintage trolley cars and buses from around the USA to show the different styles and designs. they were used on the regular routes of the public transit and They were wonderful, some had shades in the windows, a small area to stand on the outside and look around as the trolley (bus) made it's way, and the seats inside were cushy and plush. Nothing like the ones of this day. And Yes they were painted in multi-tones of color. (Down Memory Lane once again). Lori
