The London Trolleybus was sold from 1958-1964 but this one has grey plastic wheels so I am thinking this would be from 58-62. Despite being made for a longer period of time it is about even for black wheels and grey wheels. Matchbox sales were going up log rhythmically at that time.
This model is a trolleybus and was powered by electrical wires overhead. It has the electrical feeler device molded on top. I am pretty sure this one did not run on tracks. Last time I rode on a trolley bus was in the 70s in San Francisco. It was not a double decker though.
I'll have to get all my London buses together some time for a very exciting Matchbox Monday.
The S.F. trolley probably more exciting with those fantastic hills !~
Thank you very much Phil. The steepest hills have the cable cars and those are fun to ride. You can hang off the sides.
