A couple of days before I came across this basket, on ebay uk, I had seen a photo of two Harrach baskets. They were from Harrach documentation, one green, one yellow. The yellow one had a small protruding 'foot', something I'd never seen before on a Tango basket, so it stuck in my mind. Thus when I saw this orange one, also with the same foot, I did not hesitate. The overall shape of the basket is not uncommon and in fact I have one bought at a French flea market. Both have polished pontils though I've never ID'd the French one. This Harrach one is very light in weight with a fine rim trim perfectly applied. As my third Harrach Tango piece I now have a collection!
Height 30 cm./12 inches
Hello Marin, I saw your comment before my computer problem and totally agree, sometimes the small details can be very important.
a great detective
Lovely and sunny, Peggy! I have had a few Harrach tango pieces in the past (tall narrow vases with a black foot) but never a basket. Three do make a collection! :)
Kivatinitz, I don't know about being a detective but I think all of us have a better memory for what interests us.
I know the vase you mean Michelle, but I'll be keeping a weather eye for the green basket.
