The variation with the maroon dump bed as seen on this model was only made in 1961. 1961 was the year the model was introduced and it was sold through 1967. That is a pretty long life for a Matchbox model.
One may note the color is actually a bit darker than it appears in the photos. I have a red bed version in photos 2 through 4. The red one looks a bit orange in the photo. Anyway the color difference can be seen.
In the last photo Mr. Hand is showing how the bed operates via finger support.
I got one of these awhile back. I'm pretty sure mine had a red cap and a plain aluminum bed. I couldn't pass it up, It had no tailgate but it had straight wheels. :)
