This three-footed, egg shaped vase was, I believe, made by Fritz Heckert in Petersdorf, c.1890-1900. I have seen only one other vase in this shape before, and it was a coralene piece, with 'W. Patent L.' on the ground pontil. This vase also has a finely ground pontil, but is not marked. Interestingly, the interior of this vase is very lightly silvered, which gives it an opalescent look that shows off the brightly colored enamels well. I don't think I have ever seen this done before, but it does suit the vase. The feet on this vase are also flashed, so there is a nice iridescence to them. The vase measures 5" (12/7cm) tall. I am editing this post to say that I originally thought it was part of Heckert's 'Jodhpur' because of the colors and foliage style used, but after feedback from other collectors, I now believe this is not the case. Harrach and Loetz were also both mentioned as possibilities as makers for this vase, too. I haven't seen this decor before, so any thoughts on it would be appreciated!
