I ran across these frosted Christmas lights at a local Goodwill. They are unusual in the fact that they attach to the power cord by screwing down on the cord and actually puncturing the cord insulation to connect to the current. As you can see from the second photo they give off a tri-color glow. Does anyone have any information about a manufacturer or dating ? I can't believe they were produced for very long due to safety concerns.
I was not able to get a clear picture of the copper prongs inside the groove on top of the bulb (photo #4). As you screw down the red cap, these prongs pierce the cord's insulating cover and connect with the copper wire carrying the current.

After inspecting one of the strings with a magnifying glass, I found an attached faded UL paper tag listing the manufacturer as "Kas-Kel Elec. Co. AA-613".

I've seen lightbulb sockets that screw/pierce lampcord insulation in that way before, but never bulbs actually fixed into the sockets -- how unusual that is, but the bulbs are already unusual even if they were screw-in?!! A GREAT FIND!! :-) :-) :-)
