Cleaning out dad's garage I found this butter keeper. Both my dad and I have Servel propane refrigerators, but how this was designed to work I don't know. My fridge does have capability of using a light bulb in it. Was this to sit on the counter? Feedback would be appreciated.
Hi, Linann. :-)
From what I gather, some vintage refrigerators had electrical outlets inside, and Serval's refrigerators had a special compartment for the butter keeper:

Hi again, Linann. :-)
In looking at this again, it seems like it might have been a design that evolved. That is, first there was a removable butter keeper that plugged into an electrical outlet inside of the refrigerator, but later the butter keeper was integrated into the refrigerator door (as seen in that ad).
I was thinking cooling the butter. Forgot there are places where it gets cold. Tropics have ruined me I guess.
