Education of a musical instrument is hard to find in my location for a maybe German Zither. I cannot easily find a makers mark and the age is circa 1930 ish.
Any suggestions are appreciated on what to look for.

      Hi, C_S_. :-)

      Yes, a zither:

      https://www.britannica.com/art/zither

Perhaps the glue on the label dried out, and the label is loose somewhere inside the sound box? Take a look inside with a flashlight.

Here is one with an intact label:

      A little mood music:

The original film theme "The Third Man":

The Third Man - Anton Karas

In case you want to see somebody actually playing one:

"The Third Man" by Karras in top form: played by the zither virtuoso Georg Eichberger from Seehausen am Staffelsee.
