We have 2 versions of this Volkswagen Camper van here. The version with the raised roof with windows was made from 1967 through 1968. The version with no windows in the raised portion was made in 1969 only. Many Matchbox collectors consider these to be separate castings. I am not quite sure how it was done myself but they are generally considered different models.
These are of course a version of the iconic Volkswagen Van famed for not going from 0-60 ever. This the camper version. The ones I recall had a top that t
popped a bit like those tent trailers. Like these they had the seats with a table which I am sure could be converted to a bed. Although the seats in the model or models do not move.
Now originally I preferred the windows version but now I am thinking the more simple version looks more like the typical VW van. Any opinions on that? Feel free to comment.
Think I prefer the non windows top
Lovely metallics.
Kombis, any VW really, are so collectible here. I would love one but I have to pay the mortgage :(
