This is something unusual & special found on eBay AU - a rather rare Kralik decor, flying under the radar. There were some other bidders in the game, but I was able to score it for a reasonable price.
Made from green glass, it has a spiral shell form, with applied clear glass strutted legs. The decor is composed of silvery white frit in a lattice work pattern. I'd love to know how this was done!
The vase measures 18 cm tall, 5.2 cm across the top rim, & around 8.5 cm across the widest part of the base.
In perfect condition!
Fantastic piece, I think this is the 3rd time I've come back for a look! ????
Many thanks, Bernard! I was so thrilled to win this, & it was a very nervous week waiting for the auction to end. I'd only seen one other like it, on Ales' (larksel) site on Bohemian glass. Drooling over other people's collections can sometimes pay off in the end, LOL!
so beautiful
Wow! This is an unusual piece for sure! I have seen the body shape before, but never with a lattice of frit. It looks terrific in the spiral form, too. So glad you were able to add this one to your collection!
Like I said before, I have run out of words...beautiful!
Thanks so much, kivatintiz!
Much appreciated, Michelle!
Thanks also, vintagelamp!
Interesting find, Marin. As well as the trellis work the feet are unusual too, not crimped together to make flat feet. I like unusual!
Thanks so much, Peggy for your excellent observation about the structure of the feet - that's really interesting to know!
Great find!..
Many thanks, Penny!
