Somebody posted this on a group about abandoned farms in South Dakota and nobody can tell what it is. I've done reverse image searches and came up with nothing close. I searched vintage gasoline and diesel pumps and came up with nothing even close, either. I also speculated it may be a vintage cloud seeding apparatus, but couldn't find anything similar. I wish my Dad or some of his uncles were still alive, but most of them old enough to remember are no longer with us. Are there any older farts out there who can tell us what this is?

Looks like the guts of a visible gas pump?

I’m really surprised you got an answer after you asked in that manner.

It’s an old gas pump. I’ve had one similar in my days. I bought it not far from my place here in Indiana off of a farmer. At the top there’s a gas globe that goes on it. I see there’s a gas nozzle at the end of the hose. It looks like the cover that hides the gauges and dials is missing. I’ve seen it also in a catalog that displays all the gas pumps throughout history.

Most of us here are old farts ! I'm wondering about the white shit. Didn't know there were pelicans in SD. My guess was going to be a shallow well pump, which is kind-of right.

That is a 1915 air assisted has pump. Aero/Dayton model56 circa I'm pretty sure of the model definitely the date though.
