I would be really happy if anyone could identify this lovely EWER cum Jug for me. It has a black background with hand painted phoenix and what seems to be coat of arms. The outline has been over piped in gold. The handle is very good quality gilding. The stamp on the base I cannot read in order to research…. My initial thought was that is was Chinese because of the birds and also the look of Cloisonné.
I look forward to hearing from anyone who can help point me in the right direction. I would think it is quite old as in antique…..!!

I think it might be Royal Satsuma : according to Gotheborg a late 20th century Chinese copy of Satsuma ware.

does, not make any difference but probably the comparison is not completely right

it is hard to see for me but is an Zongghu the 2 character within the diamonds under

but i can,t see the addendum Jingdezhen , probably stylized too much , because most of the time it ought to be pars pro toto

Actually it is rather confusing the comparison in Gothenburg is a bit of it got an DOGFOOD = the three, meaning ping = is product of ; block boxes mark the three stacked tiny square the last symbol in Gotheborg

it is all splitting ants , but i think it is a bit earlier , excellent job from vetraio 50

Hi vetraio50 and apostata. Sorry for the delay in replying to your great research and suggestions. I am posting another couple of close ups for you to see. I think (who am I) it is moriage satsuma…may be all you say but when I look up the suggestions it does not seem to be similar…. I hope the extra photos help. Thanks so much for your kind help…

at least it is satsuma style like as vetraio said ( i have to shoot him one day , i always lose)

but i think the essence is the chinese
i think it reads ‘Zhong Guo Zhi Zao made in china

the top part is probably a cup

and the bottom might be ( maybe the C)

this ought 1970-1980, They overglazed ( it is inconsistent this way the mark ) so IMO it is still end 1990-1990

      + factory number ( + batch number probably )

OK--- Brevis esse laboro/obscures fio----- Waki
