Found this at a thrift store today. Very nice old looking what appears to be a Mala in either Palmwood or Sandalwood, the wood gives a red/brown color with lighter hues throughout. The beads also have an natural “eye” shape formed on each bead. It also has a carved raw jade Monkey riding a Koi or Carp. It is threaded and knotted with a fragile yellow rope cord. Rather large jade carving for the piece being 4 1/2” long. 57 beads in total. Any info would be helpful!
Update : They look like something called Phoenix eye bead made of Bodhi seeds. As far as age I still really don’t much about it.
I think they are Buddhist prayer beads if that helps at all.
@racer4four , Thanks! I actually found a similar item online with the eye shape beads. They are Buddhist prayer beads :)
