Glasseyed
(36 items)
This is a piece purchased at an estate about 27 years ago in New England that I thought I lost in moveing and actually found going thru boxes trying to find some of my old Christmas stuff. Early 1900"s, Heavy relief bronze plaque, 8.5" x10" beautiful patina. And definately need a little help with this, experts.
It is copy right KR PKF 1/10. Amor in upper left and Peace at the lower bottom.
Not sure if this is 1 0f 10 pieces or even who made it.. I am at a total loss! Any help greatly appreciated
Glasseyed, Beautiful. :-)
I unfortunately know nothing about the provenance of this piece, but that "1/10" engraving certainly seems to suggest either a series of ten different but related castings, or a limited edition of 10 castings of the same image.
Hopefully, somebody will be able to help you ID it.
Sometimes they used decorative pieces like this in the back of a fireplace. Look up "iron backplate for fireplaces" and you should get lots of images. This would have to be a big fireplace if it had 10 pieces made. Wonderful !~
