A very neat item I just found today. This is a Matchbox Show Case which is a combination Display case and carrying case. It has spaces for 48 models but it can actually hold more. It is wedge shaped and larger at the bottom than the top. The lower spaces can hold the model and the box. The center spaces are longer than the others which works well as some models are longer. The spaces are made of cardboard so they are a bit fragile. Putting boxes in some of the spaces helps to reinforce the case.
This was made by Ideal under license by Lesney/Matchbox. Ideal made many vinyl cases for Lesney under the Matchbox name.
Dimensions are 20" x 12" and 1 1/2" at the top and 3" on the base.
I have 3 more new to me Matchbox vehicles to share so Matchbox Monday is safe for another month.
Nice...mine was a little newer and way more trashed...ya know..youngest gets the hand me downs. Mine had the plastic...the 2 piece upper layer pulled out, was light blue color...always reminded me of the stuff they made dishwasher silverware trays put of?
