This is a family item; goes back at least 2 generations beyond me. For my best guess and fully assuming based on family genealogies - could have been purchased in New York or Europe-via England?Austria?Germany? and would have to predate 1920...I think.

Teapot appears to be porcelain. No impressed marks/identifiers. No printed marks/identifiers. This is about 8 inches tall. It's more round in shape if looking from the top down and if looking sideways is more ovoid. The spout has ten strainer holes.

So far I cannot find examples of this blue pattern. I believe this is a transfer decorated teapot.

its hard to tell , because it could be anything even be English

question 1 is this chinese blue or japanese blue, probably japanese blue

what is the scene, is it ad random scene (monks arhats, garden scene,

so is it a monk or is it FUKUROKUJU then we could be in the Shichi Fukujin ( the seven lucky gods or the chinese equivalent ( a matter of counting )

now something strange has happened , because it looks like the scenese , because of the Lake Tahoe chalkrocks , these are the flowery blobs at the feet of the trees , a sort of Kangxi hommage to lake Tahoe , compare it to the leached cliffs of Dover

is this Inban De technik like airbrushing trough a template ( compare airbrushing an Kentucky fried commercial on a car ) or Igezare technik , i don,t know

probably made around 1900, but i am not sure, because the outsourced blancs to any godforsaken hamlets in the word

addendum it looks a CHINESE scene , so the ludicrous question remains , is it Japanese made for export and even for the chinese market

Hi Apostata, thank you for your ideas so far.

I agree this must be some version of export-ware either as a blank vessel or a fully decorated one.
I don't believe this is painted by hand. It could be stenciled decoration, but I think that it not the sprayed/speckled version; more likely the katagami type.

The images made in blue look like three different designs placed on the same teapot: the figures and trees which are on the body of the teapot and the larger surface of the lid, 2. floral borders on the teapot rim and lid rim, 3. Floral/tassel/scrolls applied to the spout and handle.

I'm working to get a full illustration of the figures and trees on the body of the teapot. When I have that tracing, I'll post it here.

I don't know what to think of the rocks?/blobs at the base of the trees. On the lid they almost look like a covered wagon with wheels askew or a pile of sushi.
