I was looking for some guidance on my little teacup. It caught my eye because the hand painting was unusual for pieces I usually see around here. When I picked it up I realized how INCREDIBLY thin the porecelain was. I own bone china pieces and this is much thinner. Im thinking Japanese Eggshell Porcelain.
It is handpainted and has a significant through and through crack, I could actually feel it shifting under my finger when I rubbed it at the store to see how significant it was.
Im considering using the Kintsugi technique to repair it and want to get opinions on possible age and design style before I decide to repair it myself or send it off to be repaired by an expert. Im pretty skilled, but Id hate to not do justice to the piece with my repair if the cup is in fact an antique or special in anyway. I have zero experience with Japanese Porcelain and this is unmarked so I don't really have a way to start. I did google image search and there seems to be some similarities in design to Kutsani, but I can't find anything with that wavy design like mine.

Thank you for any help or expertise you can provide, I really appreciate it!

this is a kutani eggshell late taisho er very early showa it is not meijji , mejji glazing is more dense an you are missing the Yukiwa design (snow flake design )

so is this yawn wayn , boring boring wake me up before i go go , no it is not
this is Kachozu design ( kachozu design is we tosse a bird in a tree and we hope he won,t fall out

but the artist had some frolicsome nice solutions to make it sexy

namely the grey horinzontal blobs between the pseudo gilt

blobs are know like the blobs called kasumi- edo period ( japanese for long finger spring mist)

and there are other blobs i forgot the are like the flip site of octopus tentackles

      what is the quality

i always say to mij toddlers if you stay between the the lines and you make no smudges in your drawing it is good enough

the other surprise is white open spaces in the rim , that gives a lot of dynamic

not bad aint you did well

don,t let it repair because it is egg shell
