My mother had these in her sewing box. A bunch of buttons were past down from my grandmother. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have a time period on this? It appears old, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is mid to late 1800s. Again, any info is greatly appreciated... thanks.

      Hi, Steve1982. :-)

It sounds like you've already read up a bit on Scovill, and know that the company wasn't named Scovill Manufacturing Company until 1850, huh?

Here is a very detailed history of the firm which I found interesting:

      https://www.company-histories.com/Scovill-Fasteners-Inc-Company-History.html

      A few more interesting tidbits:

      https://www.library.hbs.edu/hc/wes/collections/women_home_abroad/social/content/1001955850.html

They actually bought Hamilton Beach almost a hundred years ago:

Just for the heck of it, a sample transportation token they made:

      Now to your specific question:

      https://inkspotantiques.com/marks/scovill-marks-overtime.jpg

Between the looks of both the front and back, it does seem like it could be 1854-1865.
