Steptoe1, What's interesting to me about this painting is the scene depicted. At a glance, it might seem to be turn of the 18th/19th century, but then you notice that all the pedestrians in the foreground seem to be females wearing knee-length garments.

The lone pedestrian on the right in the foreground is wearing a coat with both a broad collar and hem. To me, it has a 1920s flavor to it.

Wow. Not merely another painting clearly made by the same E. Cooper, but one that looks like a companion piece, because of those two women strolling together, wearing very similar outfits, and the taller one using a walking stick.

It's almost like a mirror image of the two, however, because their left-right positions are switched, and the walking stick has changed hands.

There appears to be more texture in this painting; however, almost to the point of it looking as though it had been done using a palette knife.

Although, the signature is a bit different between the two paintings. However, an individual's handwriting can change.
