Hi, Keramikos! The Sordoni and fine woodwork sites show the Woolworth store in WB. I could not open the Flickr site) The WB Woolworth store had been remodeled into a Barnes and Noble concern, which was viable for a while, but went belly up in 2021...
Beautiful flooring of an iconic place, Woolworth's was such a great store used to tag along with my grandma, shop & get delicious burgers at the dining counter. Thanks for the nice memories Ted, super post
Very nice pic with the deco doors and the tiles or cement work makes it very appealing !~
Thank you, Jenni! I too miss the Woolworth stores. They were the best! I am happy that this photo recalled pleasant memories for you !!!
Thank you, Phil! I am happy that when Woolworth's went out, that the buyers retained some of its features. The floor panels are some type of red stone, and the Woolworth's lettering is grayish marble like material, with little reflectors in each letter that makes them stand out.
I originally photographed this in color, but it looked better when I adjusted it to B/W. I am hoping to get back there to redo the shot, with the idea of obtaining the color, and reflections in the letters captured more accurately....
