This vase has a few condition issues, but it's still beautiful...
It is made from translucent milky opalescent glass with a fine lattice pattern. There is applied decoration of a pink spatter acanthus leaf twisted around the stem & a crown of five pink "petals" at the top rim.
It measures around 20 cm tall, 10 cm across the top, & 6 cm across the base, which has a rough, snapped pontil mark.
Most likely Bohemian origin, possibly Kralik.
A very beautiful vase!!!
Many thanks, Scott!
Now this one is going to put its neighbours in the shade!!! The leafyness is organic but the colours are pure bling and I just love it.
What a beautiful shade of pink! And there is so much sense of movement in the applied leaf - I love it!
A lovely piece and yes not all are kept in a locked cabinet, someone probably used it.
Much appreciated, Peggy! Thought you'd enjoy this one...it's got that touch of magic. Looks like a plant from another planet...
Thanks also, Michelle!
