These are three of my eight 1950s Saucy Walker dolls by Ideal.
They aren't in the best condition, because their little mommies loved them a bit too much when they were new...
But that is what makes me love them even more: the fact that they have "lived" a full life, the kind of life intended by a dollmaker.
All three are homemade dresses, none have original shoes.
I will post a pic of the two Saucies I have with original dresses later on.
The one on the left is a 16inch, and the other two are 22 inch.
Thanks officialfuel!
Thanks CCkid!!!
Dear: Esther110. I was researching this site when I came to your posting and noticed you reside in Spain. Originaly I come from Madrid Spain, have been in the US sense 1963, and I also deal and collect dolls. You can see my posting for dolls under the name of Mac. I hope we can communicate and exchage ideas about dolls. The dolls that I'm seeking are the historical dolls from Marin/Chiclana, I have in the pass several of these dolls, at present I only have one. he made these dolls about the 1960's or 1970's. Sincerely. Josefa McConnell
Hi Mac!!! I live in Alicante, on the Mediterranean coast. Not really into Marins. I prefer Famosa and all the 50s-70s dolls from the towns of Onil and Ibi. But really, what I collect are the dolls that "call" me. Little girl dolls, not babies.
I will occasionally pick one up, but only if they are special or difficult to find, and the price is right....as in a steal. lol
Did you know Main now has a museum? Check it out: http://www.chiclana.com/marin/museo/
Hi. I collect Marin regional dress dolls and would love to visit the museum one day.
Hi Auntykorks! Thanks for looking!
The Marin Museum is on my "one day" list...
