I believe these are Bohemian and from the Art Nouveau period. The decoration consists of a garland of flowers around the centre of the vases and a line of tiny dots below the rim. All this enamelling is in high relief and precisely executed. There are also traces of gilding to rim and base, now sadly lost. Surprisingly there are also the faint grey twiggy lines that hint at background foliage. I have noticed this on larger vases but am surprised to find this detail on vases of a mere 13cm.

These are so beautiful. I think the fact that even small items were enameled with such care shows the quality of the maker. And to have a pair make it together through all of the years is pretty special, too!

I think so too, Michelle. They are like a small echo echo beside the larger pieces of this base colour.

It is a very nice enamel, do you think they can be French?

I have to admit, Silvia, that I know next to nothing about French glass. Personally I suspect that perhaps they may be Harrach.

I do not know much about nothing. It was a suggestion because of the color of the glass and the shape so straight, with that base....
