I don't know if you're familiar with Mel Fisher, but he markets numerous coins mounted in gold. Some of them are genuine antique coins, but others are reproductions made out of silver salvaged from ancient shipwrecks:

I'm definitely not a coin expert, and would not venture an opinion as to whether you have a genuine Mel Fisher antique coin, a beautiful reproduction, or even what denomination it is.
Perhaps somebody else here at Collectors Weekly Show & Tell will venture an opinion, but your best bet might be to seek out a reputable coin expert in your local area who can look at the actual coin in person.
