    IronLace
    (929 items)

This was a super find on eBay AU, there were a few bidders in the mix but I was able to score it for a reasonable sum.
It is made from green glass which has an iridescent finish. There are some subtle striations in the decor, mostly around the neck of the vase but it seems mostly smooth in texture. With a rounded four sided form, it has indented sides & a four way crimped top rim. The vase measures around 9.5 cm tall & around the same across the top rim. Polished out pontil mark on base.
I'm fairly sure this is Bohemian. In comparison to a known four sided vase with similar indentations in the Olympia decor, I feel this may be by Loetz but I'm ready to stand corrected!

Jim is right - Definitely Loetz! Wonderful find! I love this form, and would like to add more to my collection. Here is a pair that Penny and I share: https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/213599-loetz-metallrot-vases-pn-ii-251 :)

Lovely find, IronLace. The iridescent green finish is one of my favorites because it evokes a refreshing coolness. I note that you are searching for items much closer to home. I have just checked postage rates from Britain and they are truly outrageous and a massive disincentive to bid on anything found there. It's good to see that you can pick up good items of glass in Australia!

Many thanks, Russell117, & yes, I've been fortunate to make a lot of good finds locally over the last two years, after mostly buying from overseas sellers in the past.
The combination of the ongoing effects of the pandemic such as few incoming overseas flights, long delays in postage, & soaring prices saw me make a firm decision to buy local. I also wanted to support local sellers who may have usually sold at markets or antiques fairs which were cancelled by lockdowns. Even now, many antiques fairs are yet to resume, even though the lockdowns are over.
I've been impressed that I've been able to find a lot of really cool glass, & it makes me wonder how much I missed out on in the past...
