    About 2-1/2" long, I suppose this little gadget *could* be used as a caliper anyway...its two legs are on a tight enough pivot to hold their size...???

    It is stamped "COMPLIMENTS OF SNAP-ON TOOLS INC." on one side of one leg, that's all. I have no idea of its age.

      they are used by many blacksmiths and tin smiths. They are, as you can tell, called "leg calibers". They have been in use for many years.
