A friend of mine an my boyfriend's received this clock from a friend recently who said it wasnt working an told him he could have it an if by chance he got it working then to still keep it. We're just trying to figure out what kind it is an how old it is. Then hopefully we can get help with setting the chimes cause it's chiming still like 15 mins from the 30 min an hr marks. Any an all information would be greatly appreciated.

In order to help identify your clock, please provide the following:

Any and all information printed, stamped or labeled on the dial, movement, case, pendulum and key. This includes names, trademarks, serial/model/patent numbers and dates.

Measurements of the dial and case. Please take measurements at the longest, widest, and deepest points only.

Well lit photos with sharp focus of the entire case, with close-ups of the dial, movement and any distinctive decorative feature(s) or labels.

Please note if the case appears to have a simulated or "faux" finish.

This information will be very helpful, but it still may not lead to a definitive model or date.

As far as the discrepancy between the time shown by the hands and the clock's "Striking" is concerned, it might be something as simple as the minute hand being mounted on the Minute Arbor "off" by 15 minutes (or 90 degrees). These hands often have a square mounting hole and can be mounted with the hand pointed in one of four possible positions. There should be a "Taper Pin" which holds the hands in place. The pin must be carefully removed in order to reposition the minute hand, then of course you'd need to re-install the tension washer and taper pin. We'd have to know a little more in order to try to determine what the problem really is, but from your description above, it sounds as though an incorrect mounting of the minute hand is what the issue probably is.
