    UCGC Brass Bird

Approximately 4" from tail to nose

I picked this up recently. It's a nice little brass bird. I have seen them advertised as paperweights, but I feel it's probably more decorative. I believe 1960- 70s era. The label is missing, but I found another example with the foil label.

There's some confusion on who the maker is, with labels showing Japan, Taiwan and Korea. I will link this info in the comments.

That "UCGC, UC & GC, UCAGO" business is interesting.

Here's an ancientpoint listing showing a ceramic figurine labeled with that tiny ampersand logo, and sure enough, the owner describes it as "UCGC":

Here's an old Ucagco label (interestingly enough, that initialism isn't all capital letters, reminiscent of how the British treat acronyms):

Keramikos - thanks. It is very confusing.

I sent you an email recently. I was asking if you knew anything about foundry marks. My other piece I posted has an "A" foundry mark and I couldn't find anything. Any clues?
