Cudahy, Wis. was the Patrick Cudahy company town when it was incorporated in 1906 and since then it has been a major badge generator.
Their first alderman badge (1906-1920) was an undated, impressive, six point ball tipped gold finished star made by Schwaab Stamp and Seal. Only traces of the gold finish remain on the only badge of this type I have seen.
The second badge type was a small six point ball tipped nickel finish star dated 1918-1920. No maker id.
The third design type 1920-1946 was an eagle top six point star on a wreath with a named ribbon below the eagle All are gold finished or plated. Those that are marked were made by Schwaab.
A fourth type (just when I thought I knew the system) is a throw back design, six point ball tipped star by Schwaab with gold face dated 1932-1934. So it looks like the aldermen had a choice of badge designs.
Nice collection..
