    Crosley Bluebird AM/FM Radio

This is a reproduction of the Sparton Bluebird. This is a Crosley model CR-37, am/fm, cassette and also has a line input. This particular radio was manufactured in 2010.

It was very hard to get a good picture due to the reflections. I've been wanting one of these for a long time. A friend needed some money and couldn't pay the interest he had agreed upon, so I had to take this as part of the deal.

"One of the most unique & beautiful radios is the Sparton Bluebird. It was produced in 1936 during the time of other great deco designs."

"In the late 1990’s, the Thomas & Crosley companies sold reproductions of the Sparton Bluebird (obviously manufactured by the same company). The major difference was they used 16-inch mirrors, instead of the approximately 14-inch mirrors used on the original. They also used chrome feet instead of black, and the dial was not like the original Bluebird, among other variances."

Very cool radio Dave! The first one I've seen with a slot for the cassette. I'm used to the old front loading style.

Thank you for your comments. It's definitely a classic. The original design was super cool.
